This policy explains what Works4Us ("Works4Us", "we") collects when you use works4us.com, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash) and whether you are a professional or an employer.
- Profile details you choose to add: headline, skills, languages, country, city, time zone, rate, experience, bio, portfolio link and phone number.
- Company details, job posts, applications, cover letters and the messages you send on Works4Us.
- A phone number you verify by text message, and a record that it was verified.
- Billing: when an employer subscribes, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep the Stripe customer and subscription IDs and the plan status.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, kept in server logs for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show professional profiles to employers, show jobs to professionals, deliver applications and messages.
- To send account emails (welcome, new applicant, new message, password reset) and verification texts.
- To bill employers, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the site secure.
- To measure and improve our advertising, for example counting sign-ups that came from an ad.
We do not sell your personal information.
What employers and professionals can see
Employers can see a professional’s public profile (first name and last initial, headline, skills, country, rate and bio). Email and phone stay private until the professional applies to that employer’s job or the employer unlocks the profile. Professionals can hide their profile at any time.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run Works4Us, under their own privacy terms: Stripe (payments), Migadu (email), Text Request (text messages), Cloudflare (network and security) and, if you arrive from an ad, Google (advertising measurement). We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect users from fraud.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you logged in and one to remember your language. Advertising partners such as Google may set cookies to measure ad results; you can block them in your browser settings without losing access to the site.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is open. When you ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymize your profile, applications and messages within 30 days, except records we must keep for billing, tax or legal reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, hide it, change email preferences in Settings, or write to [email protected] to get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account. We answer within 30 days.
Security
Passwords are hashed, the site is served over HTTPS, and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
Age and international users
Works4Us is for people 18 and older. Our servers are in the United States, so your information is processed there.
Changes and contact
